Halloween is just around the BEND & it just so Happens to be Nat’s (the other half of MH) FAV holiday. She is a MASTER at costumes. She is the bomb every YEAR!! TRUST (will try to post pics) But Most of us have to Work on that Holiday but still may want to go out after & enjoy the NIGHT! Well, well, well we have a few options & ideas to show you how to take your Work outfit & change it into a costume………….

Having the basics in your closet can truly help out your wardrobe. Weather you think you are a stylish HAWTie or not. These items will most definitely assist in those looks you want to create & WERK! Lets go over Five Basics & why they are essential to your closet!

#1 Fitted Blazer
You can never ever go wrong with this classic staple in your wardrobe. It gives you instant structure/ shape. From the office to the night life this item can pretty much transform anything!

Try starting with a Black blazer & adding tons of cute brooches to one shoulder of the blazer or to the breast pocket area for a different look! You can always take them off.

#2 White Button Down Shirt
This classic staple can be paired with a pair of slacks & pumps or cut offs & boots. You can wear it with any bottoms without having to worry about it matching. You really can’t go wrong with this as a top of the day

To switch up your white shirt swag, try getting studs glue them on the collar Or try wearing those new choker necklaces that tuck well & looks cute under your collar ( the ladies of MH have them on today peep the pictures)

#3 LBD

Now I am a firm believer in this basic item. A solid black fitted dress has never hurt anyone & the fact that you can dress it up or down is a key benefit to achieving the day night look! But this is a MUST in your closet

To play around with different styles for your LBD, try adding a jean jacket to the look. Or maybe even a fur Shaw (fake please). If you can add a belt & a pair of flats for a simple look. You have tons of options.

#4 Slacks

Every woman needs a GREAT pair of slacks not just any but ones that make you feel GOOD, tall & regal! Slacks show you are about BUSINESS!! You don’t have to be conducting any but who needs to know that, they just need to see how AWESOME you look in them

You should select a good fit so get ready to try on a few pairs of pants HAWTies. You also want to snatch up a khaki pair & a black pair, these simple colors will compliment just about anything you match up with it.

#5 Heels…………………….Flats

Ahhhhhhh one of my most FAV things HEELS, PUMPS, WEDGES, we can go on…. I’m sure that I am not the only lover of heels but HAWTies we also have some that despise them. Same goes for Flats, I know that I am not a big fan….only because I cannot Strut in them!!! But both are a must have in any Woman’s closet.

You want to make sure that both pairs are as equally comfortable. While you are trying on your heels, if you get the narrow toed ones you want to try a half-size bigger than what you normally wear. You also want to walk around for a few minutes in the store so you can get a feel of them. For Flats I would suggest that you also walk the store & make sure your arches are supported & the shoe isn’t bendable. If you can bend them they are no good for long-term daily wear.

I hope that has helped our HAWTies, Simple items but the keys to any successful wardrobe change. Now go out HAWTies & make sure you have these basic, Then mix & match with the current trends. (which we will show later this week!)

One of the trends we are loving here at MH for Fall 2012 is Graphic pullover. This almost sweater/ almost sweat shirt garment comes in so many styles by either the shape or the graphic itself.

We are not big into buying a bunch of trends but only a few every season & incorporate them with your Basics & other personal stylish items you like. But this trend is one that even after the season you can rock, either by WERK’n it the right way or lounging around the house…. For now we wanna show you how to WERK it NOW to be that trendsetter you know you are!!!

One of our Best HAWTies, Nathifa has decided to share with us………… How to take a work look & turn it into that HAPPY HOUR & beyond look.

In this look the focus of our attention is the skirt, when picking out your day to-night look. #1You may want to start with a basic item that works well for both, which in this case is our skirt.

#2 You want to pick out BOLD pieces to compliment the night look, maybe some red lipstick or funky earrings. Something tiny enough to fit in your purse ( maybe a clutch that works with both looks)

#3 For you daytime look you want to grab something out of your closet to cover up any extra curvage, HAWTies you know what I mean!!! Sometimes you look at yourself & say this is too much gooey thickness to go to work like this. THAT IS WHAT WE MEAN! Grab a blazer or a nice cami.

#4 Also stocking don’t ever hurt in the work place, & they are easy access ( GET YOUR MINDS OUTTA THE GUTTER, or is that just me!) to take off & stash in any purse. Check out on where to cop some of these items in this look.

Today was the start of the Massive HAWTness THRIFTED challenge. I wanted to showcase different looks that incorparated Thirfted items. You don’t always have to look like you shopped at the thrift store. Check out my look for DAY 1

With this look the only things that are not THRIFTED is my head wrap, purse ($40) & shoes ($12) both by Jessica Simpson. The shirt is a silk blouse that I got only for 2 BUCKS. I got it  because you can never get tired of wearing silk & #2 they are currently in the style rotation if you pay attention to other HAWTies. The Pants or Stir Ups, whatever you want to call it I loved from the point I laid eyes on them when my Bestie, Miriam picked them up to try them on. Needless to say I was hoping that they were not a good fit on her……………….They weren’t they were too tall. YES!!, but the Heffa gave them to my Other Bestie, Africa & she didnt like how they fit her so she said the magic words……..”Hey DEE try these on they will look good on you” BANG BANG there you have it!! LOL

If you really like something & IT FITS!!!! Get it! Why not, you’re at the Thrift store it will not hurt your pockets HAWTies.

You HAWTies know that I am all about thrifting & I  hear a lot of talk about ladies not going to the thrift store in fear of not finding anything in their size or find anything they want. Welp! It’s so not true….. There are plenty of lovely garments just wanting for a new lovely home to match up with other garments to make sweet stylish love!!

This week I have brought on a challenge to a few HAWTies to incorporate 1-2 THRIFTED items into their work attire this week. To show you HAWTies that there are many different styles you can achieve while being THRIFTED. You don’t always have to look “retro” or “preppy” you can pull off a “classy” or “classic” look! It’s all in how you style what’s currently in your closet with what you got from the thrift store. Sounds simple right? I feel like you HAWTies can achieve this…. So I plan to show you how to do so this week, with tips as we go!! I hope you HAWTies enjoy.

Haven’t posted in a minute. Thinking of some due changes!! But in the mean time I’ve been asked about my curls & how I’ve been achieving my look!!

So let me tell you that no one wanted to hold the camera to record me & I wasn’t in the mood to do this on my laptop. Shoot me HAWTies, a good sista been working hard so a little lazy I deserve. But bear with me I will post a vid soon enough!!

First I conditioned my hair. I try to pre poo every weekend while I am doing things around the house. So if may want to stick to your own wash method.

I use this to condition the locs! Herbal Essences Hello Hydration, good stuff but I think I will try something different next time.

Once washed I towel dry slightly, I still want to keep some water for moisture. My hair needs it from everywhere! Then I collect my products. This time I used…

Cantu Shea Butter Leave In Conditioning cream

Organic Curls Unleashed Curl Boosting Jelly

Suave Sleek Anti-Frizz Cream (use this in the morning)

Suave Captivating Curls Whipped Cream Mousse

Eco Styler Curl & Wave Gel

Curls Goddess Curls

3 Sisters of Nature Curly Whip Pudding

Olive, Almond, Tree Tea, Moroccan Argan oils in Red Bottle

Okay let’s begins by parting your hair

First you want to put in your leave in & oil mix rub into complete section & then part it smaller so you can put on your pudding & goddess curls comb with a clean Denmen Brush ( will show you this next time around) you don’t want any kinks. Well not with this style!!!! We loves kinks too! Any who….. Once combed you want to put you jelly & gel and take through your hair with your finger until you get your curls going. A tip for this is the use your brush to get those ends GOOD & curly.

Once you get those curls popping, you want to add-on your mousse & then move on to the next section.

You can tell which part is which. But keep doing these steps until the whole head is complete.

You want to take the hair to your liking. I know for me some area of my head are totally different from others. Also the mousse will dry clear not white HAWTies.

This is the completed look for now…. On e morning comes it will look a little different!! Now to wrap it up to sleep….

First I tie it up with a little fish net wrap it has tie in the front (I’m so sleepy can’t think of what it’s called lol) so the curls in the back will stay through the night.
